The Cubs keep bringing guys up from the Triple-A teams, and sometimes they perform like veterans. Felix Pie is one recent example.
Sunday night at Atlanta, Mike Fontenot, another recent arrival, hit a homer and an RBI triple. The Cubs went into the eighth inning with a two-run advantage, only to let the Braves take the lead and win the game 5-4.
Fontenot hit into a double play in the eighth, but nobody is perfect.
It's enough to make you want to go back to Des Moines.
