Those of us on the sports staff of New Moon apologize to our faithful readers for not bringing you the blow-by-blow account of last Friday's main event at Wrigley Field.
Heavyweights Barrett and Zambrano squared off to help us forget the disaster the Cubs handed us during May.
A crowd of around 40,000 at Wrigley, plus a worldwide television audience, watched the two contenders during round one, which took place in the crowded ring known as the Cubs dugout.
Referee Piniella separated the two poorly trained boxers and told them to return to the gym for a review of the fundamentals of leading with your right, but only if you're left handed.
The second round took place in the clubhouse, where reporters could not make it to ringside until after the blood had been wiped off the canvas.
Round three is scheduled to commence at an undisclosed location, possibly in Cicero or on Navy Pier.
