Piniella vs. Wegner

Lou Piniella took on umpire Mark Wegner in the main event Saturday at Wrigley Field. This Rumble at Wrigley came only one day after the Barrett-Zambrano match.

Following a disputed call at third base, Piniella peppered Wegner with a series of punches from both his left foot and his right.

Heavyweight Piniella had lightweight Wegner on the ropes after kicking dirt on the umpire's shoes.

Piniella appeared to be in charge after his yelling became audible in the bleachers and Wegner's reached only the seats behind home plate.

But in a stunning reversal, Wegner won on a TKO after a vicious right cross sent Piniella to the showers.

The Cubs have now lost six bouts in a row.

The next nine-round event for the Cubs commences at 1:20 PM Sunday at Madison Square Wrigley.
