As I watched the Cubs beat Seattle last night, I recalled again how easy it is for Cub fans to maintain the habit of losing. Many of us just assume that we will lose and keep on losing.
Do the players have that same habit? I don't know.
When you win, as we did last night, it may occur to us that winning always comes as a surprise. We tend to assume we'll never win the game, the pennant, or the series. The Cubs simply won't do that.
How long, if ever, would it take to assume the habit of winning? Is that even possible?
If you know the answers to all these questions, please let me know.
