Brawl at Wrigley

I don't know what words passed between Derrek Lee and San Diego pitcher Chris Young during Saturday's game at Wrigley Field.

Judging from Lee's reaction, Young chose the wrong words, especially after he had thrown a pitch at Lee's head. The throw may have been deliberate, or it may have been accidental.

In any event, Lee and Young exchanged words; then they exchanged punches.

The words landed. The punches didn't.

Derrek Lee doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who gets involved in a boxing match. Both Lee and Young refused to tell reporters what they had said.
