Holliman No-Hits

While great matters were afoot in Chicago and other major-league cities, a little-known 23-year-old pitcher named Mark Holliman pitched a no-hitter for the Cubs minor-league Tennessee.

Holliman threw 81 pitches, 51 0f which were strikes. He gave up one walk, struck out three, and hit a home run in the fifth inning. That one walk was all that prevented a perfect game. Tennessee beat Huntsville 3-0.

Now here's the big question. When will the Cubs call Holliman up or at least send him to a Triple-A team? Time's passing here in Chicago. We need some young pitchers to get off the train at Union Station and go to work.

Carlos Zambrano can't do it all himself, although he doesn't know that, and I don't intend to tell.
