The Iowa Cubs keep sending outstanding Triple-A ballplayers to Wrigley Field. Just where do the Iowa Cubs learn how to play baseball?
The entire staff of New Moon set out to answer this question. We found the Iowa Cubs at Sec Taylor Stadium in the city of Des Moines.
The El doesn't stop in Des Moines, so we took Amtrak to the town of Osceola, and the mayor of Des Moines came down and picked us up.
The stadium sits in Riverside Park, at about the distance of a Mickey Mantle home run from the confluence of the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers.
If you'd like more information, ask Mike Fontenot, Koyie Hill, Felix Pie, or any of the other recent arrivals from Des Moines.
