If Mike Fontenot and Alfonso Soriano don't give us new faith in the Cubs, nothing ever will. Soriano is the veteran. Fontenot is the rookie. They both performed like heros today.
The Cubs have now won three in a row and trail the Brewers by 5 games. It's enough to make you think they might finish above .500, but I urge everyone not to get overconfident. I don't want to spoil your day.
One fan at today's game appears to have spoiled Derrek Lee's day by robbing him of a home run. Then another fan got in the way as Cliff Floyd tried to field a fly ball in right.
Why don't these people know enough to keep their hands away from the ball while it's still in play? Haven't they ever been to a baseball game before?
