Justin Verlander is happy because his curveball and changeup worked with his fastball last night in Detroit.
Neifi Perez is happy that he could initiate a double play that should have been impossible.
The people of Detroit are happy that Verlander's fastball reaches speeds of 100 MPH and higher, which is faster than anyone should drive the cars made in Detroit.
But in spite of all this no-hit joy in Motown, Rich Hill and Michael Barrett weren't happy at all last night. They disagreed about something that occurred on the road to the Cubs 5-3 loss to Seattle.
Hill and Barrett were so unhappy with each other that pitching coach Larry Rothschild separated them in the dugout before another Rumble at Wrigley.
What is it about Barrett that makes his pitchers want to hit him? With their fists, I mean, not the ball.
Do we have a communications problem in the Cub dugout at Wrigley Field?
