Kerry Wood is getting closer to Wrigley Field. On Tuesday, he will pitch for the Class A Peoria Chiefs against the Fort Wayne Wizards.
He will pitch for one inning. Later in the week, he will pitch again.
Wood earlier pitched for the Cubs' Rookie League team in Mesa, Arizona, as he gradually recovers from an arm injury. If all this goes as hoped, he will join the Cubs bullpen later this season.
