Bad news for Cub defense. Mark DeRosa, who can play almost any position on the field, left Tuesday night's game against the Cardinals because of tendinitis in his left hamstring.
DeRosa batted only once, grounding out in the second inning. He did not return to the field for the bottom of the third inning.
DeRosa has played first, second, third, shortstop, and outfield so far this season. If he is to become even more versatile, someone will have to invent some new positions for the game of baseball.
