According to news reports, Derrek Lee is one member of the Chicago Cubs who worries about not hitting enough home runs.
Lee will play in the All-Star Game, but no one asked him to participate in the home-run derby. Who cares? The home-run derby is the biggest nonevent of the season.
Lee may be worried, but I'm not. His batting average is .331, and he keeps hitting singles to drive in runs. That's the way to win ballgames. Leave the homers to Tampa Bay.
If you want to make it into the playoffs, hit singles.
