The members of the Los Angeles branch of the Writers Guild of America are a mixed bunch. They're presently on strike, but what else do they have in common?
A few make over a million dollars a year. The small fry are lucky to make $50,000. And almost 50 percent are unemployed. It's hard to build unity in a group like that, but they seem to have done it for the present.
One thing is certain. The owners of the networks make far more cash than anyone writing jokes for the late-night comedians.
