Phantom Iraqi Bio-Weapons

In case you missed it, let us give you the hot poop about a man called "Curveball," the guy who gave George Bush and company proof of weapons of mass destruction. The CBS show 60 Minutes says the guy's real name was Rafid Ahmed Alwan.

In 1999, Alwan entered a German refugee camp, where he claimed to be an expert in the field of chemical weapons. This expert then said that he was certain that Saddam Hussein had mobile bio-weapons. German intelligence agents warned that Alwan had no proof of anything. Only a fool would have believed him, and the fools quickly arrived from the USA.

CIA hotshots bought the story and fed it to the eager boys in the Bush-Cheney administration, and they used this stuff to lead us into the quagmire now known as Iraq. Secretary of State Colin Powell actually cited this info in a speech delivered to the United Nations, a speech in which he bravely sought to justify the U.S. invasion.

It turns out that all Alwan really wanted was entry into the United States and a green card. He didn't get either. He now lives in Germany under a new name. CBS didn't tell us what the new name was.
