Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson wants cops and robbers to have more guns. Rudy Giuliana, former mayor of New York, is less enthusiastic about more firepower.
Thompson visited a gun shop in New Hampshire Friday, where he stated his firm opposition to gun controls. He also said he wants to increase military spending, which would include increasing U.S. ground troops to one million.
Giuliana says his policies in New York deprived criminals of guns, thereby reducing murders by 66 percent.
Thompson enjoys the financial support of the National Rifle Association and other pro-gun lobbyists.
