Win Without Soriano

Everyone knows how much we needed Alfonso Soriano in today's game with the Astros. But if this team is going to go anywhere, it has to be able to win games when one of its best players is disabled.

Ballplayers get injured. It's going to happen. They're not playing dominoes.

If this team wants anyone to remember it five years from now, it has to learn how to win without Soriano. Don't blame him for your troubles. His leg hurts. Don't give him a headache.

When you have a man in scoring position, hit a single if it kills you. You don't have to hit a home run. Hit a single. That's how you get into the playoffs.

Throw the steroids away and swing the bat.
