Bad to Worse

First Soriano gets hurt. Now Ramirez has a sore wrist, which may or may not indicate a serious problem.

What will happen next? I'd like to predict that the remaining Cub batters will start hitting the ball. But it's bad luck to predict anything, especially anything related to baseball.

Carlos Zambrano had a bad night at the plate Wednesday against the Astros. With the bases loaded in the fourth inning, Big Z struck out. Frustrated to the max, he broke the bat across his leg. If I tried that, I'd break my leg and not the bat.

And Zambrano didn't have much luck on the mound either. He gave up seven runs on eight hits.

In case you lost count, the Cubs have now lost four in a row.
