OK, OK, the Cubs are tied for first place in the Central Division. But before you run out to buy tickets for the playoffs, let me give you a dose of reality therapy.
The Cubs won't get into the playoffs.
I liked it when Matt Murton scored the winning run tonight, but try to understand that we won't always be playing against a chump from Philadelphia who can't tell home plate from the backstop.
And we can't expect the Brewers to keep on losing just to accommodate the Chicago Cubs. The Brewers have a worthless team, but they aren't likely to lose every game by having the pitchers throw fastballs into the upper deck.
But most important of all, the Cubs won't appear in the playoffs because the Cubs are the Cubs.
If you don't know what that means, you must have just arrived from some Godforsaken place like Tampa Bay.
