Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox have the appearance of an unstoppable baseball machine. Last Monday, the editorial staff of New Moon went to Fenway Park, where the Red Sox demolished Tampa Bay.

Admittedly, Tampa Bay doesn't really look like a major-league team, but it does win an occasional game.

Tim Wakefield held Tampa Bay hitless for six innings before giving up a ground-ball single to right. He pitched eight full innings, giving up two hits, two walks, and no runs. At forty years of age, Wakefield can still drive batters crazy with his knuckle ball.

Jonathan Papelbon closed the ninth inning. His typical fastball travels 97 miles per hour. Occasionally, it drops to 95.

The Yankees might catch the Red Sox, but don't bet your last dollar on it.
