Sam Zell, the new owner of the Tribune Company, says he plans to sell the Cubs and Wrigley Field before the start of the 2008 season. He also said he would sell the right to rename the ballpark. He thinks this is a great idea. Here at New Moon, we think it stinks.
Zell said he could make a pile of money by selling the name of the park. Maybe Standard Oil could buy the rights and rename the park the Exxon Valdez. Zell is a real estate hot shot. Maybe he could name the park "Foreclosure Field."
