The committee has finished its work on drug use in major-league baseball, and the Mitchell Report is in. Of the players mentioned, some were predictable--Barry Bonds, for example. Others, like Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte, don't fit the image of the steroid-bloated slugger. The were lots of surprises.
Fortunately, none of the current Cub players was mentioned in the report. Past players include Todd Hundley, Kent Mercker, and Matt Karchner. None of these players seem likely users of performance-enhancing drugs, and the committee made no final judgements.
