The CIA torture of prisoners in the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay has created a public-relations nightmare for the Bush-Cheney administration. Rumsfeld and others were involved in giving the green light for torture, but they're no longer on the job.
In an attempt to correct the mess they caused by permitting torture, the Bush-Cheney crowd has ordered the release of four British residents from the camp. Three will return to the UK. One will return to his native Saudi Arabia.
This sort of embarrassment is likely to increase in the future, especially now that it has been revealed that high-level CIA officials destroyed videotapes that would have revealed their complicity with the torturers.
