Boston Red Sox pitching smothered Colorado Rox hitters in Game 2 of the 2007 World Series. Curt Schilling, who is supposed to be too old for a major-league pitcher, gave up four hits and one run over 5 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out four.
Hideki Okajima then frustrated the Rox for 2 1/3 innings, giving up no hits, no runs, and no walks while striking out four. With two out in the 8th inning, closer Jonathan Papelbon gave up a single to Matt Holliday. He then destroyed Rox hopes by picking off Holliday at first.
Game 3 will start at 7:00 PM Saturday in Denver.
