Cub batters went wild Friday as they beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 13-8, proving again that you get into the playoffs by winning games, not by waiting for the Milwaukee Brewers to lose for you.
Today, Saturday, the Cubs lead the Pirates 9-4 in the eighth inning. With continued play of this sort, the Cubs will retain their shot at the playoffs.
I don't know how the Brewers are doing today.
