The Maltese Ingot

The Maltese Falcon is my favorite hard-boiled detective novel, and its film version is my favorite example of film noir. John Huston, who directed the film, had the good sense to remain faithful to Dashiell Hammett's book, in which a hapless collection of thieves travels the world in search of a life-size statue of a falcon, a falcon dating from the time of the crusades and made of solid gold.

For investors looking for gold bars of a safe and more conventional sort, the Monex Deposit Company (MDC) will not require you to follow the script of a Hollywood motion picture, regardless of its many excellent qualities.

MDC has been America’s precious metals investment leader for thirty years. The firm can obtain precious metals in coins or bullion. It can then arrange to have the metals delivered or deposited in a bank or any other secure depository of your choice.

Many authorities believe that we have entered a period that makes investment in silver bars and U.S. silver coins especially attractive. The world’s demand for silver has exceeded production every year since 1990. The U.S. government, which once held the world’s largest stockpile of silver, is now a silver buyer. MDC can help investors take advantage of this opportunity.

For individuals who prefer to protect their wealth and preserve their purchasing power by investing in gold, MDC can obtain it for you in either coins or bars. For gold falcons, you'll have to read a book or watch a movie.
