Former Senator George Mitchell will report today on his committee's investigation into the use of performance-enhancing drugs in major-league baseball. We're not talking about aspirin tablets here. We're talking about things like anabolic steroids. The committee has studied the matter for the last 20 months.

Bonds v. Schilling
Barry Bonds has retained two lawyers, who may or may not sue Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling for statements he made about Bonds' possible use of steroids.
Rumors about the use of steroids by baseball players have made some fans question the validity of home-run records established by various major-league sluggers in recent years.
Some people have alleged that Bonds' use of steroids allowed him to break Hank Arron's lifetime home-run record. But Bonds is only one of many who have been criticized for alleged use of steroids.
A grand jury is presently considering the whole issue of steroid use by professional athletes.
